Margaritaville Resort Times Square | New York
It's 5 o'Clock Somewhere

Welcome back to La Recepción! Glad to have you and I hope you enjoy today’s scroll.
Snowbird season for La Recepción comes to a close this week in New York City at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Resort Times Square.
After spending multiple hours conducting research at Margaritaville, I have concluded that this lobby (and hotel generally) is squarely on the pleasure side of the scale. They have six different bars throughout the hotel and the lobby is just an indoor/outdoor bar.
You can grab a seat at one of the bars, or even by the pool to do light work (ie. check emails, have a call, creative writing😉), but it’s not an environment for long working sessions (loud music is distracting lots of people coming and going).
It is however a great option for entertaining. You can keep it casual on the lower levels, grab a beer with co-workers or catch up with industry colleagues. If you want to flex on clients the rooftop is perfect for that, it has some of the best views I have seen of midtown, it’s not crowded and drinks are solid.
Any “real” New Yorker gags at the mention of Times Square but this is a hidden gem and worth the visit.
Notice from management. We are doing something a bit different with the newsletter format for today’s issue. Reply back and let us know what you think.

The Margaritaville Resort Times Square
Business
Great for: entertaining clients or catching up with friends and colleagues.
Coffee: yes, available at Joe's Merchant's Coffee & Provisions on level 7.
Music: yes, Radio Margaritaville.
Wifi: free public wifi but you have to enter your email to connect (no room # needed).
Charging access: poor, I actually didn't see any outlets.
Bathrooms: yes, each floor and bar have its own bathrooms.
Leave your stuff alone to go to the bathroom? no, definitely keep your stuff with you.
Callouts: poor charging access, it's a loud environment, poor seating for work.

Introducing the Margaritaville 6x9
It’s a bar crawl through the hotel and the concept is simple, six bars and nine drinks. The crawl starts on level 2 at the Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville restaurant and ends at the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar on level 32.
Below is the route and a list of recommended drinks at each bar. A must-have for the Maragrville 6x9 is the 22oz souvenir “Booze in the Blender” cup. It’s a refillable cup that gives you discounts on drinks.
The Route
Level 2 - Tiki Bar
The first stop is the Tiki Bar on level 2. This is where you can purchase your souvenir Booze in the Blender cup.
Drink Recommendation: Margarita, or any of the “Boat Drinks” on the menu.
Level 3 - Tequila Bar
Take the escalators behind the Tiki Bar to Level 3 - the Tequila Bar.
Drink Recommendation: Shot of tequila or Loaded Landshark.
Level 6 - Landshark Bar & Pool
Drink Recommendation: Piñacolada.
Level 7 - License to Chill Bar & Hotel Lobby
Drink Recommendation: Loaded Landshark.
Level 31 - 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar
Drink Recommendation: Margarita or Loaded Landshark.
Level 32 - 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar
Drink Recommendation: Margarita or Loaded Landshark.
La Piscina: The pool is heated to 85.5 degrees and is open year-round. You read that correctly. If you are looking for a quick dip in the dead of winter, this pool is heated and ready to welcome you. It is a 4ft 6in deep “plunge” pool, designed for soaking vs. active cannon balls. Day passes to the pool are available.
