Welcome to the Soho Grand Hotel. A boutique hotel in NYC’s SoHo neighborhood, filled with lively cocktails and people to match. If you are looking for good cocktails, and great people-watching the lobby of the Soho Grand Hotel is the spot to be.

Opened in 1996, the Soho Grand Hotel design is an ode to the industrial factories and lofts that defined Soho in the 1970s and the 1870 Glided Age. It is said the hotel and its grand lobby were the first to bring the beauty of the Soho neighborhood indoors, through the use of cast iron and masonry.

The crowd is a mix of folks stopping in for a beverage, grabbing lunch, or posting up for the afternoon with their laptops. It’s an ideal spot to get some work done during the day as the lobby is generally very peaceful, filled with natural light, and has plenty of seating options.

Business

Great for: IRL meetings, posting up, and checking emails.

Coffee: yes, available from the bar.

Music: yes, during the day it’s lighter ambient music featuring a mix of jazz flute, soft rock, indie & soft pop.

Wifi: free wifi. Network Soho Diner Guest. PW milkshake.

Charging access: poor, there are a few floor outlets in the bar and lounge space that you can tap into.

Bathrooms: yes, located to the left of reception.

Leave your stuff alone to go to the bathroom? yes.

Pleasure

At 5P EST the Soho Grand lobby turns into a party. Cocktail shakers are the start to the live entertainment, DJ sets & dancing that is to come. St. Lucia (one of my favorite bands) is known to make an appearance in the lobby for an acoustic set.

La Piscina: no hotel pool however you can swim in the Martini Shaker. A large format Martini option that serves 4-6. Choice of Monkey 47 gin or Grey Goose vodka with dry vermouth and olive bitters.

Lobby Bar or Restaurant: lobby bar is named the Grand Bar and Salon.

Menu: beer, wine, cocktails, and food (full menu).

Happy Hour: no (🥲)

Thirsty? try the Saturday Night Fervor (pic below). Thai chile-infused rye whiskey, Campari, lemon, pineapple.

Hungry? try the Grand Burger. Pino’s dry-aged cuts, watercress, Shropshire blue, tomato jam, hand-cut fries.
